My photo
Greg and London have been married for 6 years. We have a 4 yr old son, Glade & an 11 month old baby, Nicolette. We live in Utah and love experiencing both warm summers and the snow! Greg is a business litigation attorney and London is a registered nurse, but mostly a stay-at-home mom.

JAPAN! part 2

Greg at the Toyota factory. His dad and he went to see how their Lexuses are made.
A taste of the architecture: hand carved, hand painted. This is Nikko. This was my favorite part of the trip: this shrine enclosed in rainforest.

Gate separating the outside world from the spiritual world.

A bit of the ceiling carvings.

Glade's souveneir from Japan. A little baby kimono! All in all we had a great time! It was absolutely exhausting but was filled with interesting things.
Expected pleasures: architecture, teahouses, sumo, & photo-ops.
Unexpected treats: I was the only one running the downtown Tokyo streets (seriously), helping or scaring a lost boy in this little oasis of a park, seeing Greg's mission, hakata dolls, & the airplane ride (12 hrs, nearly unbearable) because we had personal tvs!
Things I could do without: leggings on everyone, everywhere in Japan! Long travel times, food especially curry, & being without my Glade.

JAPAN! part 1

Enjoying the LONG bullet train rides to cities outside of Tokyo. We traveled to Fukuoka, Hiroshima, & Nikko. Some were so plush & even had leather seats and foot rests. One train ride was 6 hrs long, each way. They travel 180 miles an hour!
In Nikko, the famous red bridge.

London wearing her souveneir kimono.
Five minutes after the train started moving.

Before the train started moving.

Day Activity: Fishing

When I asked Glade "where's your fish?" This is what he did. Happy Birthday my darling boy!

Goodbye summer!

As my friend Laura said goodbye to summer, I was reminded of all the fun things Glade got to do...
So-goodbye Lagoon.
Goodbye water. I don't know that we will ever see Greg's mom, Suzanne on a jet ski again.

Goodbye boat.

Goodbye curls. Glade has a big boy haircut now! I was in tears...

Goodbye sandbox, 3 swingsets (I know, I know, it's excessive).

Finished remodel pictures, as promised!

New carpet: dark berber upstairs, light berber downstairs in matching tones.
New large tile in kitchen and dining area, same tile in entry way and bathrooms upstairs. Darker tile downstairs in laundry room and bathroom in matching tones.

This is the before pic. Linoleum, peeling, yellowing, nasty, hard to clean linoleum. Goodbye! I do not miss you.

Guest bathroom upstairs before pic. Linoleum flooring, green marble trim around tub. Yuck.

After: much better! Trim replaced with granite. Linoleum replaced with tile. Red paint. New shower curtain and towels not pictured.

Greg's Family

This post features family pictures: this was at the Bee's game in Salt Lake for a firm party. Glade loved the choo-choo train.
Greg's siblings: London, Greg, Melissa, Chantal, David, Bob, Sheila, Jennifer, & JR. We love them all!

All the grandchildren on Greg's side. Greg is the youngest and is on the top of the pyramid. Robert, bottom left, got his mission call to Lisban, Portugal and leaves Dec. 1st. We will miss him!

Remodeling is FINISHED!

We are done with the remodeling at our house & now sleeping in our own bed (no more in-laws, though I liked it)! My mother-in-law, Suzanne, was a big help while we were there and even pottytrained Glade. YEAH! He is only 22 months and will go on the potty. Still having difficulty with telling me he needs to go & #2. But, we will keep at it!

I will post pictures soon, the cleaning crew is here today to tidy it up and then I will have Greg help me upload photos. I know, I know. I need to learn.

Project Details:
Paint-upstairs bathrooms & everywhere downstairs & all the baseboards
Trim-upstairs bathrooms in granite
Tile-light upstairs, dark downstairs
