My photo
Greg and London have been married for 6 years. We have a 4 yr old son, Glade & an 11 month old baby, Nicolette. We live in Utah and love experiencing both warm summers and the snow! Greg is a business litigation attorney and London is a registered nurse, but mostly a stay-at-home mom.

Easter photo shoot

Yes, Glade looks skinny. :( He has lost 3 lbs.

March Madness!

This month has been absolutely mad! What a roller coaster it has been, we will start with Glade...
Glade: hospitalized for 3 1/2 days for ECHO virus, which causes dangerously high fevers (his was 105), secondary infections (he had ear infection, thrush, & a UTI), and low oxygen saturations (his were 85% on admit)...so he had many needle pokes, IV antibiotics, oxygen and treatments, & isolation. It was miserable! Finally he got well enough for us to take him home and 2 days later he caught a virus similar to ROTO; the gut virus. He had major diarrhea and vomiting for 8 days, this included our St. George trip. So after his 8th day, he was admitted to the hospital again for 2 days for IV hydration and testing. He has been home for 1 week, but we are keeping him "quarantined" so he doesn't get anything else. Sure enough today though, he has a cold. ??? I guess illnesses come in 3's. Let's hope we are done. Besides being sick, Glade has developed like a CHAMP! He can do the following tricks:
*At our house, we don't use the word NO so he says YES in his responses, oh and PLEASE.
*He obeys when we tell him to put something away, especially clothes in the hamper
*He has a big boy bed!!! We are still transitioning him from the crib, but it is darling and he usually stays put
*"SAD BABY"...he can put 2 words together (which I guess is rare for a boy and at 18months), our favorite is when he puckers his lip and says SAD BABY when someone is crying
*He can play on the swingset by himself! What a relief for mom!!
*He loves Grandma! He will check the door every so often to see if she is here and yell BUMMA!
*He blows kisses, says bye bye, and thank you to everyone, even the nurses after they poked him. :(
LONDON: Besides caring for a sick baby, we had a mini trip to St. George where Glade and I threw up the whole way down and for 2 days, & Glade and Greg threw up the whole way back and for 2 days. It was misery! I named the virus we caught "SATAN'S FURY" because I cannot imagine anything worse. We still had some fun moments with Greg's work partners and friends: The Fraziers, The Richards, & The Hills. I haven't been to work in a month & I have honestly missed it. I am still trying to train for the Ogden half marathon coming up...but I am a bit behind!
GREG: Had another big trial on Monday, which went really well-giving him good experience. He is also busy as the elder's quorom president with meetings & socials. He will kill me for posting this but he looks forward to playing with Glade, American Idol, and Dancing with the stars. ;)
So that has been our month. Let's hope April improves with health!

Engaged!

My BFF, Brittany, is engaged! Yeah!! The big day is April 17th...so excited for her.

Dennis the Menace

Glade from here on out will be known as Dennis the Menace

Just a taste of what he can do or destruct:

Dropped a Mt. Dew Code Red (yes, it's red) on the floor and it burst open saturating everything including the vaccuum

Threw his applesauce on mom's pants

Pulled a framed picture off the wall, scraping the wall, window ledge, and broke the frame including the glass all over his floor

This is all today, before 10 am. Uh oh, gotta go, "Dennis!"

Other exciting things...

1. London is a scout den mother to the Wolves/Bears group. She has four 8 year old scouts each week and loves doing fun activities with them: sorting trash & learning about recycling (even put in faux dirty diapers), energy saver house treasure hunt, & fieldtrip to the city building and courthouse. She is having a blast!
2. Greg is still swamped at work, as always. But, looks forward to traveling and getting a break. Upcoming booked trips: St. George in March, Japan in September, & a few odds and ends in between.
3. Glade is talking up a storm! "UP!" "Stuck" "Light" "Soft" "Nope" "Yep" "Gumpa" and many more. He can say 50 words. The pediatrician claims he will be giving the State of Union address in 30 years. Yeah right! That puts alot of pressure on mom. :) He loves his train table he got for Christmas & playing in his toyroom. He also thinks snow tastes pretty good. Twirling and dancing is also a favorite.

December/January Happenings

This is the picture Chantal sketched of Greg holding Glade. See its companion below...

The first two pictures posted are from our trip to Yellowstone the end of December. My sis in law, Chantal took these and all pictures. She is our family photographer. If she didn't come on the trip, we wouldn't have any pictures at all. The first shot is our family that went on the snowmobiling adventure. Greg's siblings and their families came. When we got home, many people asked "was it sooo fun?" My response: "It was me and my two 7 year old neices bawling." Which is true, I cried because I was so cold and just prayed for it to be over. I know, I'm a big time wuss. Good thing Glade didn't come because it was -18 degrees plus a -20 degree wind chill. Brrr! I am the far left of the photo and smiling by chance. Can you see I have on 3 coats???

Some of the scenery was pretty, when I wasn't shivering, I may have noticed.

Chantal is a very talented artist and photographer. She sketched this picture of me and Glade and gave it to me for Christmas. I loved it! It is hanging in the baby's nursery next to his picture with daddy. (above)

We had a lovely Christmas and spent it with family---we are blessed to have every family member within 10 miles of eachother. I surprised Greg's family with a scrapbook for each sibling & for his parents with pictures of their childhood and journaling by their mother. It was a wonderful gift! With some funny pictures. These past few holiday months have flown by. But, we've had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year's.

Book Club

I like to read. I like to recommend books to others to read. At work, in the grocery store, to my friends, neighbors, etc. It is a nice way to start a conversation. I like reading because it expands my vocabulary, lets me live in a fantasy world, and have a good laugh or cry. So...with all that in mind, I have decided to share a book I've recently read: Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. Its main character is cringe-worthy. I'd laugh and squeal in embarrassment for her. Because Halloween was not to long ago, I'd read it...because it is a ghost story. And a romance. Those are always my favorite. If you like to laugh and relate to someone's most embarrasing moments that are daring & romantic...read it. I just might recommend another book soon...but for now, I'm busy reading!
