This month has been absolutely mad! What a roller coaster it has been, we will start with Glade...
Glade: hospitalized for 3 1/2 days for ECHO virus, which causes dangerously high fevers (his was 105), secondary infections (he had ear infection, thrush, & a UTI), and low oxygen saturations (his were 85% on admit)...so he had many needle pokes, IV antibiotics, oxygen and treatments, & isolation. It was miserable! Finally he got well enough for us to take him home and 2 days later he caught a virus similar to ROTO; the gut virus. He had major diarrhea and vomiting for 8 days, this included our St. George trip. So after his 8th day, he was admitted to the hospital again for 2 days for IV hydration and testing. He has been home for 1 week, but we are keeping him "quarantined" so he doesn't get anything else. Sure enough today though, he has a cold. ??? I guess illnesses come in 3's. Let's hope we are done. Besides being sick, Glade has developed like a CHAMP! He can do the following tricks:
*At our house, we don't use the word NO so he says YES in his responses, oh and PLEASE.
*He obeys when we tell him to put something away, especially clothes in the hamper
*He has a big boy bed!!! We are still transitioning him from the crib, but it is darling and he usually stays put
*"SAD BABY"...he can put 2 words together (which I guess is rare for a boy and at 18months), our favorite is when he puckers his lip and says SAD BABY when someone is crying
*He can play on the swingset by himself! What a relief for mom!!
*He loves Grandma! He will check the door every so often to see if she is here and yell BUMMA!
*He blows kisses, says bye bye, and thank you to everyone, even the nurses after they poked him. :(
LONDON: Besides caring for a sick baby, we had a mini trip to St. George where Glade and I threw up the whole way down and for 2 days, & Glade and Greg threw up the whole way back and for 2 days. It was misery! I named the virus we caught "SATAN'S FURY" because I cannot imagine anything worse. We still had some fun moments with Greg's work partners and friends: The Fraziers, The Richards, & The Hills. I haven't been to work in a month & I have honestly missed it. I am still trying to train for the Ogden half marathon coming up...but I am a bit behind!
GREG: Had another big trial on Monday, which went really well-giving him good experience. He is also busy as the elder's quorom president with meetings & socials. He will kill me for posting this but he looks forward to playing with Glade, American Idol, and Dancing with the stars. ;)
So that has been our month. Let's hope April improves with health!
